Every Monday night it’s Trivia Night at Purely Bingo. After every game of online bingo there is a question asked. The first 3 players to answer the question correctly score points.

It’s fastest finger first!

CM Rix was once again dressed in his red, sparkly quizmaster’s jacket to host this week’s Trivia Tourney, although this week it was short-sleeved due to the heat. LINDYLOU63 won her first ever game in the 75 ball room at Purely Bingo so Rix told her that she was no longer a “pattern virgin”. LINDYLOU63 replied that it had been a long time since she was one of those! SHARAZADE1957 entered the room with a nose bleed. She said it was all the excitement, while Rix said it was all of the knowledge that she had crammed into her brain in preparation for the night that was leaking out of her nose. Later on in the proceedings Rix informed the room of quizzers that his wife had the tennis on the television while he was entertaining the troops. He said that he couldn’t watch the exciting match and work because he can’t multitask. SHELLY2403 and SHARAZADE1957 quickly jumped in saying that was because he is a man. LINDYLOU63 said that Rix should have been born a woman. Then she added “that can be arranged”!!!

The amusing answers generated by typos, due to the fact that everyone is typing as fast as they can, was in abundance once again. For example, when asked “If you were born on March 2^nd, what star sign would you be?”, one answer came out “spices” instead of “Pisces”! Also, when asked “Which Charlie’s Angel died last week?”, one answer came out as “Farra Firest Mnajors”! Classic stuff.

The scores remained incredibly close all evening, with only 1 point separating first and second places.

The little devil hides himself behind 5 balls on the online bingo board in a straight line, be it horizontally, diagonally or vertically. Each pattern winner must seek him out by choosing a number from the board at the end of each game. When he has been found, all the pattern winners from the evening receive a share of £100 bonus.

Each pattern winner must seek him out by choosing a number from the board at the end of each game. When he has been found, all the pattern winners from the evening receive a share of £100 bonus.

CM Precious was in charge last night of all the detectives looking for naughty Archie. The players use their home-made grids to check off the numbers that have been called. XXIWONXX was giving up on her grid at the beginning of last night’s proceedings because she had drawn it for the 90 ball room instead of 75 by accident! As they searched hard, JACKIEG offered MADGECOOL a tea or lager. MADGECOOL wanted a lager, so ROOM512 asked if she was a lager-lout to which MADGECOOL replied that indeed she was!  As the evening progressed SHELLY2403 asked Precious for a clue to where little Archie was hiding. Precious said that maybe he was at the bottom of the board, then she announced that she could hear the brains thinking.

ROOM512 found the first piece of Archie under number 63. STEVIE58 was soon after with number 61. ROOM512 again had a go at finding Archie and found the third piece under number 62, with BABYDOLL finding the fourth piece under number 64. BOATERRAY finished off proceedings with locating the final piece of Archie under number 65.

There were 9 winners sharing £100 bonus last night, each receiving £11.11. The winners were: BABYDOLL, LADYKIZZIE1, ROOM512, BOATERRAY, MADGECOOL, SEZZY, FRISBEE, STEVIE58 and GRANNYJAN.

A splendid time searching was had by all.

There was plenty of fun to be had at Purely Bingo last night at their weekly Treasure Chest tourney. The online bingo site hosts this entertaining game at 8pm every Wednesday evening in their 75 ball room. Each pattern winner receives, or even loses, points dictated by the treasure hidden behind the number that was called last. The 3 players with the most points at the end of the 2 hour tourney all win prizes.

Last night had a nautical feel with a pirate theme.  CM Rix was at the helm, dressed as Long John Silver. He even had a parrot which, quite rudely, kept shouting out “pieces of eight!” and singing ‘What shall we do with the drunken sailor?’! Rix began the proceedings by shouting “Ahoy me hearties!”. Everyone laughed. Lots of pearls were found at the beginning of the tourney, which lead Rix to speculate that maybe Mrs Archie had broken her necklace. He said it was difficult to type with a hook, to which FRISBEE asked if he was drinking rum too. Rix said he wasn’t yet, but BABS49 said that the parrot had been at the Bacardi! Plenty of jewels and metals were found as the evening progressed.

The final results were as follows:

The fun and laughter was in abundance last night. TRICKY said he had been home alone all day with “no missus nagging”. BINGOWINNER asked if he’d buried her under the patio! CM Rix was at the helm and told everyone that he had his flashing bowtie on especially for hosting the quiz. BINGOWINNER asked if he was wearing his red, sparkly jacket too, but Rix said it was too warm for that. TRICKY suggested that Rix was “doing a Frank Butcher”, wearing nothing but his bowtie. BINGOWINNER said “ooh  I hope so Rixy”, to which LUCIFER replied “oh shurrup, yer won’t sleep tonight”! Later on TRICKY told Rix that CM Sunrise had told him to call Rix ‘Bamber’ and sked if that was right. Rix replied that if Sunrise says it’s right then it is right as she’s his boss!

Amusing answers to questions were also in full force last night. For example, in answer to the question ‘If a female pig is called a sow, what is a male pig called?’, TRICKY  suggested “the missus”! When Rix asked the question ‘Who was the main villain in the cartoon Wacky Races?’ FRAN2WIN2  replied “Archie” - the Purely Bingo caller!

It was fun and games last night as the Purely players all searched as hard as they could for the elusive Archie. Manager Andrea was at the helm this week, cracking the whip that she got from ROOM512, along with her tea of pie and chips bought by her dad. She said “Keep searching girls!”, to which LADYKIZZIE1 replied that being called a girl at her age was a real boost.  As they searched for the caller, ROOM512 missed something that was said. Andrea said that she was going to whip ROOM512 for not paying attention. FRAN2WIN2 piped up that Archie was probably under Andrea’s bed with the whip. Andrea replied later that Archie had moved into her bed as he liked the whip!

Archie this week was hiding under numbers 6, 20, 34, 48 and 62 in a diagonal line.  He was found with 20 minutes of the tourney left to go, so the players who had already won a game picked numbers where they knew he wasn’t so that others who had not won yet could receive a share too! The winners all receiving a share of £100 bonus were: LADYKIZZIE1, ROOM512, MOCO, XXIWONXX, LEAH, FRAN2WIN2, HOPES2WIN, BINGOGREEN3 and BABYDOLL. The remaining 3 players in the room at the end hadn’t won a single game, so in a great show of Purely spirit, Manager Andrea gave them £5 bonus each as they had played all evening, searching hard.  The players receiving £5 bonus were: STEVIE58, SAMANDA and BOGGY. What a great evening at Purely Bingo!

The fun and laughter was flowing freely last night. BINGOWINNER announced that she wished to swap account balances with anyone who had a higher amount than her. JACKIEG called CM Sparkle Fairylight. LUCIFER called her Sunrise. So BINGOWINNER stepped in and called her Rix to get it over with! Sparkle announced that she had a large chest and that she was going to shake it, to which ROOM512 replied “Don’t start that one!”.  LUCIFER complained that her foot was dead. BINGOWINNER exclaimed that she had probably bored it to death!

Among the bounty found yesterday evening were bronze, sapphires, pearls, gold and cubic zirconia. The final results were as follows:

It’s fastest finger first!

Last night was no exception to the usual fun that’s had at a Purely Tourney. CM Sparkle was quiz master asking everyone to call her Magnus Magnusson. To show how seriously they take it, the players all made a special effort last night. SHARAZADE1957 unplugged her house phone after the first question. However, she forgot her mobile, only for it to ring during the third question! Sparkle said she felt like Bamber Gascoigne and admitted that she thought that the teams on University Challenge actually sat on top of each other. Most agreed that they believed the same.  Chat was great as usual.  LUCIFER said that BINGOWINNER looked like a bloke. Sparkle said it was because of her deep voice, whilst SHARAZADE1957 said it was her beard!

Many a funny answer was given to the questions including the question ‘What item of confectionary was advertised with the slogan ‘Just enough to give your kid a treat’?'  One answer was ‘pizza’! The room was in stitches.  In answer to the question ‘Which Roman goddess is a brand of margarine?’ the answers came flooding ‘Stork’, ‘Utterly Butterly’ and ‘Lurpak’! Many a laugh was had by all.

In the end the results were as follows:

2^nd place with a score of 32 points was ROOM512 receiving £15

1^st place with a score of 44 points was FRISBEE receiving £25

The Purely super sleuths were out in force last night seeking the elusive Archie. The balls were so heavy that CM Rix almost put his back out and had to strip down to his string vest as he looked behind them for little Archie. JAEMBH was in a naughty mood, convincing the rest of the players that Archie was hiding under her duvet with his head on her pillow! We also found out that BINGOWINNER wails instead of singing and HOPES2WIN meows! APPLE52 was the first to find a piece of Archie at around 9:30pm as she asked Rix to look under number 11. She was closely followed by COOKIE73 choosing number 26 and BABYDOLL choosing numbers 41 and 56. The final piece of Archie was found by STEVIE58 as she asked Rix to look behind number 71.

The 12 pattern winners all receiving a share of £100 (£8.33 each) were: MOCO, BINGOWINNER, LEAH, SHELLY2403, BABYDOLL, SEZZY, HOPES2WIN, PLUGGER, APPLE52, COOKIE73, GRANNYJAN and STEVIE58. Well done guys!
